Norman was scared and surprised to see that his surroundings had change. He held onto the book and went under a tree for shade to cool off. Norman was scared and couldn't help and wonder where he was. Norman looked at the book and sighed as he held onto it.

Coraline pushed her way through a bush before straightening up and brushing her jacket off. She'd been stumbling around the forest for over a day now, trying to find another living person, but so far she had had no luck. She was beginning to wonder if there were any humans in this strange new land she had been thrown into. And not only that, she was pretty hungry. As she began to venture forward on what she hoped was a trail, she spotted a bush that had a few blackberries clinging to it. "Finally! I'm starved!" She jumped forward and pulled all the berries off the bush. There weren't very many, but at least it was food.

Norman heard rustling in the bushes and he knew that a fake spell book was good for hitting. Norman then said as he held the book over his head, "Okay come out you. I got a spell book and I know how to use it." Norman took a deep breath and raise the book over his head and screamed as he saw Coraline stain face and thought it was a monster.

As Coraline quickly devoured many of the berries, she suddenly heard a voice calling out at her. She poked her head over the bush and spotted a young boy with spiky hair raising a large book. Upon her appearance, he gave a frightened cry. Coraline also gave out a cry, but it was a cry of surprised joy, not fear. "Norman!" She quickly pushed her way out of the bush with a smile across her face. "Oh man, I am so glad to see you! I was afraid I was the only one here from our LARPing group!"

Norman asked as he looked around and curiously, "Where are we? I don't think we're back home." Norman picked up his fake spell book and asked as he looked at his spell book, "Do you know what happen to the others?"

Coraline rolled her eyes slightly at Norman's question. "If I knew what happened to the others, I wouldn't have just said you're the only one from LARPing that I've seen. As to where we are, I don't have a clue, but it certainly isn't home." She went over to him and looked at the book in his hands. "Managed to hold onto something, huh? All I've got is my bag and some berries. Oh, and this!" She reached into her pocket and produced the strange stone she had found upon first entering this world. "Found it when I woke up in whereever we are."

Norman sighed and heard a growl that he never heard before. Norman asked as he hid behind Coraline, "Did you hear that?" The growl got louder as it snarled and its eyes were glowing in the bushes.

Coraline stiffened as she heard the growling coming from a thicket of bushes in front of them. "I sure did, and it doesn't sound friendly." Coraline felt her grip tighten on the stone as she reached into her bag and took out the only thing close to a weapon she had. It was a garden clipper. "Something tells me we aren't the only things in this world after all."

The figure moved fast as Norman fell backward as it knocked him down. Norman asked worried, "What was that?" Norman then looked around and spotted a small cave and said as he pointed out, "We can sleep in there." Norman got wood and started a fire for light.

Whatever it was that had lept at Norman had moved so quickly, Coraline hadn't even seen it. "We need to find shelter, somewhere safe." No sooner had she said this when Norman pointed out a small cave. Coraline quickly followed him to it. Norman began to gather firewood to start a fire. "Good idea, whatever that thing is, it probably won't like fire." Coraline slung her bag off her shoulder and placed what remained of the berries on top of it. "Norman, have you had anything to eat since you've gotten here?" Coraline could guess that Norman was probably as hungry as she had been.

Norman shook his head and ripped a page out of his fake spell book and threw it into the fire. Norman said with a small smile, "Not really. Mom always said if you see berries in a forest don't eat them they might be poisonous." Norman then thought about how they would get out of the forest and said, "We need a map of this place to know where we are going."

Coraline made a slightly disgruntled sound. "Well mother's aren't always right and since I'm not dead or dying, it means the berries are safe. So here." Coraline handed what remained of the berries to Norman. She moved closer to the fire and its warmth. "Where the heck are we gonna find a map out here in the middle of the forest? We don't even know if there are other people here!" Coraline plucked a berry that had fallen to the ground and rolled it between her fingers. "Plus, we don't exactly have much in the way of food." Suddenly, as if her words had activated it, the stone in her hand began to glow a green glow. "Wha?" Coraline looked at the stone in wonder as the green glow transferred over to the berry in her hand. Suddenly, it began to split like crazy until berries were flowing over the sides of her hand. "Hey, wow, stop!" Before she even finished speaking, the stone had stopped glowing and the berries stopped multiplying.

Norman ate the berry and said hopefully, "Maybe some campers might have a map. After all we are in a forest and where there are animals there are people." Norman took his backpack off and dug through as he found a notepad, rope, pens, and spyglass. Norman said as he took his spyglass out and looked from side to side, "At least with this we can see far away." Norman was shocked at Coraline's multiply berry act and said worried and jokingly, "Well at least it wasn't bunnies."

Coraline stared at the berries before looking at the stone in her hand. A smile spread across her face as she held the stone out to Norman. "Norman, do you know what this means? Whereever we are, whatever this place is, it has magic! Real magic! And this stone lets me do magic!" She quickly stood up and went to the mouth of the cave. "If a stone like this can do that, then imagine what other things are in this world!" Coraline felt an intense curiousity burning up inside her.

Norman smiled and then looked at the stone. Norman looked through his backpack again and found his magnifying glass. Norman put it under the magnifying glass and said as he saw strange markings, "It looks like some sort of language. Some language even I don't know." Norman then looked at the symbols and said as he looked closely, "Looks like some sort of mountain and wolves."
