"Excuse me," Hogarth began, suddenly gaining a bit of a backbone, "but in my land, we believe that magic is impossible! I can say that you being able to turn into a dragon and a human is due to a mutation in your DNA and an involuntary change of form can be a virus from the bight of an animal." I guess yelling at the chick that can turn into a dragon isn't the smartest thing to do, he thought, but I don't want to look like a total wuss...at least I hope I don't look like one now.

"A mutation?! A virus?!" Astrid eyed him, how could he call her hundred of years training a virus?! "For your information this so called 'mutation' is one of the more difficult and secret magic of our world!" she yelled at him waking up from her seat "Not everybody can do it!" - at least not every dragon - "And I took more than one hundred of years to learn it!" She was going to kill him! He could say anything, but don't insult her magic! At least not without knowing all the difficulties that she met to learn it!

Hogarth was about to reply before he was stopped by something she said. "You're older than 100 years old?" he asked. "Wow. That's amazing." Ok, she's getting pissed, he thought, trying to figure out a way to get out of this situation alive. Come on, Hogarth: think of something! "Anywho," he continued, "I'm sorry for how I worded my last statement. It's just that, since my land doesn't have magic, that's how we would end up with similar powers: through mutations or viruses." Even though this is all from movies, books, and shows I've seen and not real life, he quickly thought to himself.

Astrid calmed her down a little when he seemed to be amazed by her age, at least there was something he liked! She nodded and crossed her arms again trying to not think at how pissed she was, in this way he could be still safe for a few moments. "I see..." she titled her head as he explained in a some how his world "Those are really strange explanations for magic..." she smirked "Your world is too strange!"

"And I say the same thing about yours," Hogarth replied. "But then, the universe is a strange thing filled with strange worlds. You never know what you'll see while you're around." Take you for example...you're pretty strange to me.

"We have a philosopher here..." Astrid laughed, the boy was so strange! She was going to even enjoy his presence - if it wasn't for the fact that he insulted her magic! - but obviously she couldn't keep him there! An extra nuisance around and even not useful! "Lets just say that there are better worlds than others, and this is one of them!" (( Btw do you already know what to do for his curse? Just wondering... XD ))

"I don't know about that," Hogarth stated. "I had everything back in my world. I had friends. I had two loving parents to take care of me. I was fully human..." Hogarth looked down in sadness. "I don't mean to be rude, but I would rather be in my world than this one right now. I was about 85% percent less likely to die every five minutes."

Astrid looked at him, she felt a little bad for him, being turned into something really dangerous and can't even go home would probably be one of the ugliest experience in the world! She sat again on the broken trunk and looked at him with her face laid on a hand "I think everybody would prefer their homes at a foreign country!" even she would prefer to be in the 'dark' castle instead of being in a world like the one Hogarth was describing! "And you won't risk anymore to die every 5 minutes, at least not after that bite!"

"But I would still be hunted here, wouldn't I?" Hogarth asked. "Every universe, no matter how peaceful they can be, will hunt down those that they consider to be a threat or a lab-rat. Even with the one or two people that see beyond what they really are and accept them, the rest of the world wants them dead or in custody for research." Why do I have the feeling that she knows exactly what I'm talking about, he thought as he sat on a rock.

Astrid looked at him and sighed, he wasn't so stupid after all! Hogarth knew exactly how the world worked! "Yes..." she sighed "You're right..." For all her life she had to run away from people that hated her only for being a dragon! She knew how it was when nobody trusted you because of your nature! But with time she learned to not care about them and care only about herself! And Hogarth needed to learn that too sooner or later! "Let's just say that here they won't study you!" she smiled sorrowfully "Dead is more safe!"
