Tulio frowned at Esmeralda's offer to try and take him back to his ship. He stopped walking and tossed the coins in his hand, his face growing dark as he recalled the night he had lost it all. "Appreciate the gesture, Esmeralda, but my ship and crew aren't at the dock....they're at the bottom of the sea." Tulio's fist clenched tightly around the coins he held in his hand as the anger and sadness washed over him. But he quickly let it go. There was no good holding onto those feelings. Better to actually do something about what had happened. He turned back towards her, his smile back in place but not as bright as before. "Only reason I was at the port was because I needed to expand my funds for the venture I'm currently undertaking."

"Oh. That sucks." Esmeralda kicked herself internally. Really? Bring up a topic to a guy you're starting to get to know and like? Nice job, hon. On the upside, his money was going to a better cause. Unlike her, who was planning on selfishly squandering it. The only thing she had planned to buy was a sword for Kayley, but ever since Esmeralda sort of took off, it would be a rare chance they'd meet up again. "I guess my share's a contribution to that ship then. Thought of a name? Neptune's Outlaw the Second is out, I guess."

Tulio leaned up against a tree and thought for a moment. "No, no names just yet. Besides, its not the ship I'm so worried about. You see, a ship can be replaced time in and time out. But a good crew, a loyal crew? Not so easy...." Tulio was thinking of all the good times he had had with his crew, his mates, his friends. Other fairies might have scoffed at the idea of getting closely bonded to humans, what with them being moral and dying so soon, but something about that limited amount of time made them all the better in Tulio's eyes. Every moment precious because it could be the last one. Tulio's eyes wandered to Esmeralda as he thought this and he gave a wide smile. She was really no exception to that rule. "You know, Sea flower, you'd make a good pirate yourself.............if you could get that chip of your shoulder." Tulio have her a foxy grin as he continued walking, quickly crossing a log that reached over a small stream.

((So tempted to break out into Empty Chairs at Empty Tables LOL)) "You know more about pirates than I do, so I'll take your word for it." Esmeralda plucked the leaf off of a nearby plant. When she rolled it, sharp pops of pine mixed with apple filled her nose. However, a connection with a crew that took time to build was much like in Gitan. Esmeralda didn't know the people who decided to act like gypsies, and had a falling out with some of them on day one, but over time she grew to respect them at a bond. Tulio's second comment caught her off a guard. So much so that she almost tripped over her skirt. A gypsy-pirate; that sounded cool. "Me? A pirate? Like you said, the chip on my shoulder is a hindrance. I'm also not really much of a sea person. Actually, I take it back. I like looking at it and swimming in it. Not really being ON it."

Tulio looked at her with a shocked expression. "What, an adventurous and daring girl like yourself, not taking to the sea? You shock me, Esmeralda! I creature like you should look towards every horizon, including the sea horizon!" Tulio threw out his hand and made a daring if somewhat silly pose, hoping to get a laugh from the girl. He continued walking, taking on a more serious tone as they continued on the path. "Well, I must admit that I won't be taking to sea anytime soon myself. Still, a pirate on land can get by just the same. Although the term "outlaw" seems to apply more."

Esmeralda smirked at both his comment and his ridiculous pose. "You know, you're funny," a hint of laughter was in her tone. It took a lot to make Esmeralda burst out into laughter, and he was pretty close that one time. "Yeah, I guess 'outlaw' fits more. I may be in the same boat if I'm going to practice to stop being full of myself." Esmeralda was proud of her 'gypsy; title. It was exotic, and was a bit lighter than 'outlaw'. But if Esmeralda was going to earn her money not just through dancing, gambling and pranks, she might as well have her face sketched in black charcoal and posted with a price on her head.

"Well my Sea Flower, if you want to become a famous outlaw, here's your chance." With that, Tulio pulled aside a large bush to reveal another town a short distance away. "The search for a crew and the "earning"of coinage begins here for me. I plan on hitting up a few areas before I try my luck in the Royal Capital. They say the nobility are like magpies, they have nests full of goodies just ready for the taking." Tulio began to walk towards the town with a purposeful stride. "Thankfully my name isn't known well yet, so it shouldn't be hard to get some gold. Who knows, maybe you'll make yourself a name here."

"Nice strategizing," Esmeralda nodded. She truly was impressed. Rich people were always her go-to targets. Tightening her coin belt, she followed close behind. Thankful to not have any shoes that would leave obvious footprints, Esmeralda smirked at the possibility of having a nickname. Heck, even the name "sea flower" was starting to have a fun ring to it.

Tulio strolled with Esmeralda into the center of the town. It appeared to be market day here and things were the normal chaotic mix. Good, it would be much easier to nab some money without being noticed when things were busy like this. He turned towards Esmeralda and gave her a low bow. "Well, Esmeralda, it looks like we part ways here. However, if you ever want to contact me...." He held out a strange leaf to her. It was medium-sized and looked to be an oak leaf, but instead of the normal green, it was bright red, almost like in autumn. "Just toss this into the breeze and follow it. It will lead you to wherever I am at, but ONLY if I want to be found. Best to keep a low profile at times, I'm sure you understand." At this, he gave her a genuine smile, not one of his mischievous grins or winning smirks, but a genuine smile. The kind friends would give to each other.

Seemed to be the thing in Orachd. You meet someone you start to like and then they abandon you. Not that Esmeralda wasn't used to it; she did it all the time back home. She had spoken with some people, they liked her, and then she left them. Guilt tugged at her, remembering how suddenly she had ran off from Kayley. "Yeah. Um," she pocketed the leaf gingerly in her pouch. That was some magic she didn't want to lose - outside of her flash powder. "thanks." She returned his smile, light shimmering in her emerald eyes. "Good luck with everything, Mr. Fox."

Tulio gently took Esmeralda's hand and gave it a light kiss. "And fair winds to you, my Sea Flower." With that, Tulio rose from his bow and strode forward into the crowd of the town. Next moment, he was gone.
