Loneliness. The word seemed so foreign to Lara, even though she had known it her whole life. Her father was buried not even five minutes ago. The service had been short, as she was the only one with any kinds of ties to him. He had no friends and neither did she. "Companionship is weakness," he would say. She used to think it was a rational thought. She never thought he would truly be alone...but now she was. She looked sadly at the river she now sat by, which seemed to mock her. Alone, alone, alone.

Not too far off, Chase Young walked towards the river to collect certain herbs for a special soup of his. He had always meant to grow these particular herbs at his temple, but he never got around to it. He realized that he wasn't alone here, but he knew that the other being wasn't a threat. Just someone dealing with the troubles of life. Realizing the irony of that fact, he turned to what his senses were telling him was a Necromancer and spoke with concern at the saddened being. "Are you all right?"

Are you alright? The words echoed in Lara's mind. Why should he care? She wouldn't care if their roles where switched. "Piss off." she growled, her voice hoarse from underuse and the tears she was forcing to keep at bay. She then went back to staring at the water.

Chase wasn't taken back by her language. He had seen humans respond much worse. But he was still curious. "I'm sorry for interrupting your privacy," he stated, "but I must admit that, in the 2,000 years I have lived, I have never seen a Necromancer show sadness. It is obviously a serious situation if you're trying to keep yourself from crying."
