Victor took a small sip of tea himself before giving a small shake of the head. "No, I still don't know much about my origins...... thank you for saving the book for me. You didn't have to do that for me, especially when I haven't done much to help you." He looked over his cup a Meg, staring into the depths of her violet eyes. "I guess I don't want to read it because, well, I'm afraid what it will have to say......" Victor put down his cup and stared at his reflection in the liquid. "But if I ever want to understand what I really am...............I need to face that fear.....Meg, may I please see the book again?"

Megara giggles and goes to get it her legs still a little shaking but it was better. She pulled the volume from her bookshelf and came back and set it in front of Victor. "You know I will be here for you Victor if you need me...to be.." she said softly as she sits back down. She began sipping at her tea again slowly this time feeling a strange sensation of apprehension.

Victor took in a small breath to try and calm himself as Meg put the book down in front of him. He gave her a weak smile. "Thank you, Meg. That means a lot to me." With a slight hesitation, Victor reached out and opened the book at random. A light and cold air seemed to faintly stir around the room, almost as if soft wings had passed by. He let his eyes run over the writing in the book. He softly spoke the words out loud, but not in any language known to man, yet it was known to all living things.

"No thank you Victor..." she whispered softly as she watched him the book when she suddenly was very cold. She shivered and pulled the blanket around herself as she sipped more at her tea in an attempt to warm her self up again. "Anything interesting Victor?" she asked as she looked at him over her empty cup as she went to pour herself another cup of it.

But Victor didn't look up at Meg. In fact, his eyes seemed to be fixed on the writing in the book. Suddenly, a burst of cold air rushed around the room, yet the pages in the book remained dead still, as did Victor's hair and clothes. His eyes were starting to glow white as the pupil disappeared. All the while, he remained completely still and calm. Slowly, other presences began to appear in the room, ghosts and specters set up a terrible wailing and crying, as if they still felt the pain of living. Objects began to float from their places before falling to the ground only to float again. But worse than this was the change in the energy of the room. A vase of withered flowers sitting on the table suddenly came into full bloom before dying and reblooming over and over. Living things in the room were also affected as waves of horrible fatigue washed over them, almost forcing them into a deep and possibly final sleep. But this fatigue was quickly replaced with a burst of energy, almost as if the things had been reborn again. through it all, Victor only looked down at the pages of the book of death.

Megara's eyes widen at the events happening around her and tried to walk to walk to Victor. Her body felt heavy and tired as she inched towards him her body feeling more heavy as time passed. "V-victor" she whispered physically laboring to keep herself awake as her hand brushes against his before she almost in slow-mo collapses to the floor unconscious.

Deep within his trace, Victor barely registered the touch, but slowly, very slowly, he managed to pull away from the text of the book, the power that radiated from the writing. With a tremendous effort, he managed to move his hand beneath the book cover and slammed the book shut. All at once, the ghosts, the wind, the shifts in the living and dead energy stopped. Victor gave a blink and his eyes were back to normal. He looked around in mild confusion before seeing Meg on the floor. With a sharp intake of breath, he quickly rose from his seat and went to her side, putting his arms around her and helping her to rise. "I'm sorry Meg. I had no idea what would happen if I read the book." He steered her back towards her bed, not sure if she had the energy to sit up in a chair.

Megara was really groggy as she leans against Victor for support so she didn't fall over. "Just remind me before you go all spooky on me alright Victor I was worried..." she said softly breathing deep gulps of air trying to brush the cobwebs from her mind. "So find out anything interesting from you adventure Victor?" she asked looking into his eyes a soft unguardedness to her own.

Victor set Meg down on the bed and looked her over to make sure his strange surge of power hadn't left any lasting affects on her. "Maybe..........I didn't get a chance to read much, but what I did gather is that there may be a way for me to.............to find my father. To speak with him." Victor was just finishing looking over Meg's arm in its cast when he looked up into her eyes.

"how would this come about Victor...you meeting your father?" she said softly before her mind and heart started racing. "Victor I just realized something..I touched your bare skin..." she said gasping as if she felt she had done something wrong. "I am so sorry Victor i know you don't like bare skin being touched because of your powers...just I got so worried and i thought you wouldn't snap out of it and so I had to do something..." she rambled on hoping she didn't offend him.

Victor had just been about to answer Meg's question when he realized she was right. She had touched his bear skin, had been in direct contact with him, and yet she was perfectly fine. Why was that? Every other time he had touched a living thing, he had either severely weakened it or killed it. But not this time. Victor looked down at his hands for a moment. "I don't know how you were able to touch me. Maybe....maybe I'm starting to gain control of my powers after all." With that, Victor closed his eyes and invisioned his hands as skeletal. When he reopened them, they were nothing but bone. With another focus, his hands were those of a young child. Victor gave a sort of strangled laugh. However, he lost his focus and his hands went back to being human and adult. He flexed them before looking at Meg. "I'm starting to get control over my forms, maybe even my powers....but not enough control."

"Thats fantastic Victor getting even a little bit of control can help so much you know" she said with a bright smile. "But now we have to figure out who your dad is so we can get some answers..." she said her mouth stoic and straight "You need to know what is going on so you can figure out what is causing your powers to go outta whack...not to mention it be closure to finally know who your dad is I bet.."

Victor gave a nod before going silent and thinking over what he had just seen in the book. "The book said that if I am to meet my father, I must be present when life is ending. Something must die, but not just that. It must be a soul that is ready to move on, something that doesn't wish to linger in this world. I must hold onto the soul, keep it tethered to the world of the living." Victor hesitated on the last part of what he had to do to finally meet his father. "And I must make a blood sacrifice.....of my own blood." Victor said this last part quietly, not sure how Meg might react to this.

Megara blinked and pondered the death thing before she gasped at the idea of having to sacrifice blood. "How much blood are we talking Victor? Did it say the name of Death?" she said spouting off the first questions she thought of to prevent her from over thinking him bleeding and going into hysterics.

Victor could tell Meg wasn't taking the news that he would have to make a sacrifice of his blood well. He tried to find something else to look at other than Meg's eyes. He locked on a corner of the bed where the coverlet was starting to unravel a bit. "It only said enough blood to "awake the bond." I don't know what that means, but I think I'll be fine. After all, I can control death.....to a degree. As for names, yes, it did mention Death. This book was written by Death itself. It's almost something of a journal." Victor suddenly rose to his feet and looked back down at Meg. "I appreciate everything you've done for me, Meg. But you need to rest now. Even without my little...incident, you need to recover from that broken arm. And don't worry, I won't leave yet if you don't want me to."
