Megara's eyes soften a tad "Please don't...waking up alone is terrifying..." she said softly wringing her hands together. This wasn't something she enjoyed doing because she felt weak when she was like this. She was worried though if it was bad enough and Death did come and made a fuss about being summoned well then...she'd just clock him and tell him to get over himself.

Victor, who had been clearing away what remained of the interrupted tea, turned back and looked at Meg with a kind smile on his face. "I don't want to scare you, Meg. It's ok. I'll be right here when you wake up. I give you my honest oath as a gentleman."

"Thank you Victor...oh I have extra blankets and pillows in the closet in case you wanted to crash on the couch" she said softly as her eyes began to droop and she snuggled into the sheets of her bed on her good side. Her mind was racing but it was alright because she knew he wouldn't leave her...

Victor waited until Meg had fallen asleep. He took out the pillow and sheets and set them up on the couch. However, he didn't fall asleep. Like Meg, his mind was racing over what he had just discovered in the book. It now lay on the table, looking harmless and like any other book. Victor stared at it for a time before letting his gaze turn to the window and the moon. And as the moon shown back down on him, Victor thought over the sacrifice he would have to make to finally discover who his father was...and perhaps in the process, who he was.
