Jamie looked at the moth and smiled. He was glad that the moth liked him, but then he started to worry. Changes, more changes. "It's just a legend right?" asked Jamie a bit worried. "Some legends are real. Is that one?" The small little boy couldn't handle anymore changes for so it would seem. He not only ended up in Orachd, but also cursed and had his freedome taken away. He only hoped that if that legend about the moth was true that the changes in his life would be happy for a change, not another line of tragedy. "I'm glad the moth likes me though, it seems like a nice moth." Jamie continued looking at the moth. It was still glowing and he did feel some comfort by it.

Victor looked at Jamie with concern. At the talk of change, he seemed to become very frightened, almost as if the idea of change scared him. Victor tried to find a way to reword the legend so that it would comfort him, not scare him. "Well, I don't know. Legends sometimes turn out to be true, but you don't have to worry. Moon moths are supposed to bring good changes, changes that make things better." Victor watched the moth for a time before letting out a small sigh. "It must be nice to have something like you, even something as small as a moth."

Jamie looked at the moth and smiled. He was glad that the moth could bring good changes. He was glad that he met Victor, he seemed like a nice guy to the small boy. “I’m glad to have met the moth and you.” The boy started to think if the moth stayed around, he could have a little friend to always stay by him, but he knew that couldn't be, he wanted the moth to have freedom. Just then he heard footsteps. Great, guess who’s coming back. “Uh. I think my Dad is coming back.” Jamie was now scared to death of what was going to happen. The moth flew onto Jamie's shoulder for some reason.

Victor gave a small smile at Jamie's words. However, the smile quickly vanished as he saw the look of fear come across Jamie's face. The moth had moved from his shaking hand to his shoulder now, almost as if to comfort him. Victor got to his feet and stared into the darkness. He didn't know how effective his powers would be in his current child form, but he had sensed the same presence from before. "Jamie, I don't want to upset you, but I know that whoever that is, it's not your father. So please tell me, who is it?" Now that the presence was back, Victor could tell that it was far too different from Jamie's life-force to be his father.

Jamie looked at Victor and started to fidget with his fingers. He got really nervous. Pitch had ordered Jamie to pretend that he was his son. “Ugh. He’s my master actually, Pitch Black. He ordered me to tell everybody that I’m his werewolf son.” Pitch came up from behind and stood behind Jamie. “And you seem to have failed that order. Pretty much on the first day. Jamie Bennett.” Jamie gulped. “He asked. I’m trying very hard to do what you say honest, Pitch.” Pitch sighed. “It was also for your own protection, kid. I found you and took you in. I could have left you to die out there.” Jamie looked up at this dark master. He didn't know what to say. He felt trapped either way. What could he do? He did look up to Pitch now as a scary fatherly figure in a way and his master did promise him protection.

Victor turned towards the tall dark figure that stood behind Jamie. He struck an imposing figure, standing so tall that Victor barely came up to his lower chest in his current form, but Victor felt more confused than frightened of this man. The life-energy he gave off was very different from anything he had come across before. "So I take it that you must be Pitch. Normally, I would open with polite conversation, but I think I'll forgo that in light of the circumstances." Victor turned his gaze back to Jamie. "What do you mean, he's your "master?"

Jamie looked at Victor and then at Pitch. Pitch gave a hand gesture for Jamie to go ahead. “I mean he’s just that. He’s my master. I’m his slave. He found me in the woods after I got cursed as a werewolf and now I serve him, in exchange for protection. I was desperate. I didn't really know what I was doing and it sounded like a good idea at the time. So I agreed. It’s better to be a slave then dead in some new land.” Pitch then looked at the young man next to Jamie. “I would say the same and who are you supposed to be?” he asked giving him a stoic impression.

Victor felt himself glare up at this man, Pitch. That in itself was strange. Victor hardly ever glared at all, he wasn't normally an angry person. "My name is Victor Burton. As to who I am, I am someone who finds the idea of owning another living creature appalling. What makes you think you have the right to own him?" Victor looked towards Jamie then with a saddened look on his face. "And Jamie, what makes you think you have to serve him?" He said this in a quiet voice.

Pitch looked at Victor. “Listen kid, I don’t see why I have to explain myself to the likes of you.” Jamie looked at Victor and gently fidgeted with his fingers. He was nervous. “I owe Pitch, my life in a way, that’s why. It’s true I am scared of him, but on the other side. I would rather be his slave and he did promise me protection than on my own. I’m not from here. I don’t know what type of creatures are out there. I’m scared to death that I will find something or someone scarier than Pitch.”

Victor merely stared at Jamie for a moment, unsure of what to say. But he felt the moment had come when he needed to reveal himself to Jamie. He didn't looked at Jamie as he spoke, dreading to see the fear that would most likely spring into the boy's eyes upon hearing the truth. "I don't know what Pitch is to make you so frightened of him, but I can assure you that you've already met someone far more frightening than him." Victor glanced up quickly at Jamie before dropping his gaze again. "I should have been honest with you from the beginning and told you the truth of what I am but.................I just wanted to help someone for a change."

Jamie walked over to Pitch and clinked onto his black cloak. "What are you then? Why were you lying to me? Did you want to hurt me?" he asked. He was scared. The first time he thought that he had a friend in this land, it turned out to be somebody scary. He was sort of afraid to find out. Pitch just stood there smirking at the young lad. He never expected Jamie to do that, winning over this kid, was going to be too easy.

Victor looked up at Jamie, startled by the boy's question. "No! I don't want to hurt you or anyone! And I didn't lie to you. Everything I've said is true, I just didn't tell you all of it!" Victor looked down at his hands, the hands of a small child. He felt the terrible sadness weighing him down but he closed his eyes and tried to focus, to change into his adult form. After remaining tense for a moment, Victor opened his eyes to find he had managed to change from child to young adult. He turned his sorrowful faced towards Jamie. "This is one of my forms, what I used to be. But what I truly am........" Here, Victor closed his eyes again and felt the flesh melt from his body. "I am a Child of Death." He kept his eyes closed as he revealed all this to Jamie.

Jamie closed his eyes and grabbed Pitch's coat tighter and tighter. He was scared. Tears started to come out of the small boy's eyes. Pitch looked at Jamie. He smirked. He loved the fear energy that he was getting off the little kid, it felt exhilarating. Jamie said nothing and then looked up at Victor. "Atleast even if you are a Child of Death, you still have kindness inside of you." Jamie could see that even if there was a skellington in front of him. Jamie looked at the little moth. "You gave me Timmy after all." Jamie decided to name the little lunar moth that, since Timmy decided to stay around him that long. The moth really liked Jamie, for some strange reason.

Victor opened his eyes at Jamie's words. To hear that he still thought of Victor as kind was something he had never expected to hear. Even with tears in his eyes, Victor could tell Jamie was being honest and this gave Victor a sense of hope he had felt was lost forever. He gave the boy a small smile before speaking to him. "I am sorry Jamie that I didn't tell you from the start, but please understand that I had no choice in this matter, just as it sounds like you had no choice in becoming a werewolf." Victor had picked up this piece of information as he had listened to Pitch and Jamie, but it didn't matter to him. "I want to bring life and hope to the world, not death and fear...........that's why I chose to sit with you. Because I thought if I could make just one person happier, even just a tiny bit less afraid, then I could prove to myself I'm more than just death."

Jamie listened to Victor ,every word, he gave him a light smile and dried his eyes. "Then I thank you for sitting with me. You did that and I am most grateful to it." said the small boy. He liked Victor, he really did. He was still more afraid of Pitch, cause the little boy could easily see that his heart was dark. The little boy could tell that Victor was telling the truth and that he had kindness within him. "I'm glad that you did sit with me." he said with a sweet smile. Pitch glared at Victor and off into the distance. He didn't really care whether Jamie made a friend or not. The kid was still loyal to him, and he knew that. To him fear was the only thing that was important and Jamie's fears were a feast to the dark mysterious boogeyman.
